Chris Errera is a Schaumburg, Il resident who was born with diastrophic dwarfism. (A rare condition affecting 1 in 500,000 births) His parents, John and Carol, made sure that Chris would grow up in a loving environment and that his condition would not decide what kind of man Chris would grow up to be. Since Chris could not play sports, Carol used his interest in the piano to spark his creative side. In kindergarten, even though he was too young to be part of his school’s talent show, his abilities allowed the teachers to bend the rules so he could participate. In high school, he was submitting original compositions in music competitions. Although physically different from his classmates, he was accepted because of his talents. While Chris continued to study & perfect his art, he underwent 18 different surgeries to help him with his physical disabilities.
